Really?!?

Today on Groupon they listed a massage/pedi/mani deal for 50% off!! I was ofcourse intrigued and so I clicked on this spa's website.  They have a picture slideshow set up on the side bar that shows each of the spa's workers.  I would not let a single one of them touch me naked....especially this one worker named Tony.  He is about 60 and looks like a major skeev.  I then click on the Services tab.  In the drop down I see "breast massage"...wtf?...so I click....look who does the breast massages...ewwww.

Also...questions.
1) Who would be comfortable getting a breast massage.
2) Why don't they have women do these...that would be a little less awkward.
and 3 is really more of a statement, then a question...
3) I believe he should be paying me $60 to massage my breasts.

truth or protection?

All my life I've been envisioning what my ideal lifetime would look like.
This ideal has always included a husband and children.
When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would answer with veterinarian, but in my head I thought, all I really want is to be a mother.
But as of lately, and I don't know if this is the depression or a protection mechanism,
I kinda feel like it would be okay if I don't have kids and it's ok if I don't get married.
Kids do take a lot of selflessness, and I never realized until my nephew came how exhausting they are.
Don't get me wrong kids are wonderful, and so unconditionally loving..
but what if your sick?
or feel like going to bed at 7 one night because it's been a bad day at work.
Kids are a lot of commitment.
Also marriage...
I enjoy my space.
I enjoy that I do not have to watch sports, but rather I watch Oprah when I get home from work.
I like not having to talk to anyone on the phone when I get home if I don't want to.
If I want to eat pop tarts for dinner, I don't feel bad.

It's almost like my mind is preparing me for the worst case scenario.
My heart is protecting me from what I used to think would be devastating not to have, by tricking me into thinking it's not all that great?

Do you think that's what it could be...or could it be the truth that I no longer want those things?
Truth or Protection?

My attempt at being crafty...

So I've been looking for something easy and cute to do for a coffee table decoration for a while now, and I finally found it!  See, here's the thing, I'm not a "crafter" by nature, I'm more of a "starter but not finisher" when it comes to crafting, so it has to be pretty simple for me to finish it.

I was checking out an AMAZING blog called Clean and Scentsible, who is a fabulous crafter.  After reading several of her posts, I've decided that I have about as much talent all together as she has in her right pinkie finger.  But anywho, I found this project that I thought would be do-able for me.  They are paper flower balls.  Here's how you make em':

I went to my local hobby lobby and picked out the following "ingredients":
  •   Scrapbooking Paper $3
  • Styrofoam Balls $15!! (didn't know Styrofoam balls were so pricey!)
  • Flower puncher $7
  •  Dress making pins (CS suggested corsage pins, but I went the thrifty route) $6
  • <3 Vase (was bought at Ikea) $12

Step 1: Punched out a zillion little flowers out of the scrapbook paper

Here are the CUTE pins that I found! ADORABLE bright spring colors!

Step 2: Pinned little flowers unto Styrofoam balls.  I alternated the cheap pins, with the decorate pins to save some $$, but if I was married to a doctor or lawyer I would have went the completely decorated pin route. (Mr. Kitty was very upset that I was using HIS table to craft on, and you can also see my new rug from Ikea)

Step 3: Voila! Beautiful balls to put in my vase (that sounded a bit dirty).

I haven't gotten them all done.  It takes me about 40 minutes to make each ball (but then again it's ME, and I'm watching my DVR'ed shows while I'm doing it), and I bought about 15 balls to fill my giant vase.  Will update with a finished look pic when they are all done.

Oh and a TIP if you decide to make these....BUY A THIMBLE.  My little thumb is sore from pushing in pins!

TueFriesday Pick

So I forgot to put my Tuesday pick of the week up on Tuesday (OOPS!) But I found a real gem.  "He is real man, who knows how to treat his little girls." (taken directly from profile, and no he doesn't have any children, I think that's what he is calling the women he dates).  He took misspellings a step further, and misspelled his screen name "NODREMA4ME".  But maybe I'm being too harsh, maybe he just doesn't like Dramamine??  Anyway, he emailed me and asked if I was ready for a "good time".  hmmmmm....NO.

P.S. I also find it amusing that his tattoo says "but not broken" right above his "butt crack".

Thursday

So currently can't get the following out of my mind:

  • The song FRIDAY by some whiny voiced tween...except I am replacing the word 'Friday' with 'Thursday'.
  • said whiny annoying tween.
  • Taking a trip to Montreal (If you watch Bethany getting married you know why).  It's so magical looking there!
  • I can't wait to get off of work and go to Hobby Lobby, I have the BEST crafting idea ever! (Will be blogging about it sometime next week).  HINT: It involves styrofoam balls.
  • I'm also wondering what Robin is doing right now...I hope she isn't getting torn apart, and having all of her doo-dads, and thingy-ma-bobbers removed.  Robin is my old car by the way, I just traded her in for a newer car with more up to date doo-dads and thingy-ma-bobbers.  I kinda miss her.  She was my very first car, and has a lot of memories along with miles.
